Water investments don't actually track the price of water. They invest into companies that operate in water treatment, conserve or purify water including those that make equipment and deliver new technologies to the water industry. Water usage has been tripled over the past 50 years, resulting from strong population growth, changing in lifestyle and eating habits and particularly to heavy industrial use. This makes water investments an interesting opportunity to invest in an heavy-regulated market although there is no access for investors to the worlds most demanded commodity.
